42 Vienna Students Secure 1st Place in Austria at AWS Community GameDay Europe!

42 Vienna students Beregszászi István and Myron Prokopenko, alongside teammate Valérie Vienne, achieved 1st place among all Austrian participants at the recent AWS Community GameDay Europe. Competing as team “SEGFAULT-42,” the trio faced a rigorous test of skill against 1,100 participants from 53 countries!

Double Podium for 42 Paris Students at the Gemini 3 Paris Hackathon!

Two teams of 42 Paris students took first and third place at the Gemini 3 Paris Hackathon. The event challenged participants to build concepts using AI Studio, Vertex AI and Google’s new agentic development platform: Antigravity. Congratulations to the winners!

42 Heilbronn student secures first place at the IPAI x Hi! PARIS Hackathon!

42 Heilbronn student Mohamad Mansuri took first place in the IPAI x Hi! PARIS Hackathon, a three-day international competition focused on innovation in education. His team, the AGORA, developed a multi-agent approach for bias detection to mitigate hidden prejudices in educational materials. The event also saw 42 Heilbronn student Ali Sanei take third place.

42 campuses once again stood out in the rankings, taking home more top positions than any other community. With 1337 taking the first spot globally, two 42 campuses on the podium, half of the Top 10 being 42 campuses, and six 42 campuses in the Top 15, the community’s dominance is undeniable!

42 Prague Students Win Pan-European AI Competition!

With the Eduvhled Engine, a project they developed during a 42 Prague Hackathon, four 42 Prague students stood out among 800 projects from 31 countries in a competition organized by the European Commission. They’ll be on their way to Brussels in June to claim their prize!

42 Perpignan Hackathon: Students Win €2,000 for Public Service Innovation

42 Perpignan and the Chamber of Commerce of France’s Occitanie region co-hosted a public innovation hackathon where students prototyped the future of public services. The winning team took home €2,000 for developing a visual tool to streamline complex decision-making processes.

42 Antananarivo Wins Big at ODC Champions African Coding Contest

42 Antananarivo dominated their first ODC Champions, Africa’s largest coding competition. With five teams in the national Top 10 and one Madagascar champion, team “New Team” took 4th place internationally out of 357 African teams, a massive win for Malagasy tech talent.

42 Warsaw Joins HackNation PL 2025 as Community Partner

42 Warsaw became a Community Partner of HackNation PL 2025, Poland’s nationwide hackathon with 1,000+ developers, analysts, designers, and strategists.

Teams tackled real challenges during this Hackathon, from ministries and state agencies to open-data solutions for smuggling detection and geopolitical forecasting.

42 Türkiye Hosts Web Technologies Hackathon with Bilişim Vadisi

On December 16–17, 42 Türkiye partnered with Bilişim Vadisi for a Web Technologies Hackathon, bringing together 20 teams in the final.

The event combined 42’s peer-to-peer, project-based learning with Bilişim Vadisi’s tech and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

It showcased how strong learning models and the right ecosystem can produce focused teams and real, implementable outcomes.

1337 Takes First Place at AXA’s National CTF

1337 participated in a national Capture The Flag challenge organized by AXA Assurance, competing against 120 teams from top Moroccan schools.

After weeks of problem-solving and learning under real-world conditions, the team won 1st place, earned a $900 prize, and secured internships with AXA Assurance.

42 Abu Dhabi Takes First Place at Global Blockchain Hackathon

Team noTime from 42 Abu Dhabi secured first place at the BNB Hack Abu Dhabi, an international blockchain hackathon organized by Binance and BNB Chain.

The team developed an AI agent for blockchain access and a DeFi looping assistant, earning a $5,000 prize along with up to $50,000 in additional support.

42 Nice had the opportunity to participate in the Côte d’Azur Digital Schools Hackathon, joining top digital institutions including Epitech Nice, CESI and others.

The challenge focused on applying AI to support small and medium-sized enterprises, with students tasked to design practical solutions addressing real operational needs.

Across three days, 42 Nice students collaborated in inter-school teams, combining technical skills and strategic thinking to deliver concrete, impactful AI-driven solutions for local businesses.

42 Porto students reimagine food retail with “42 Ducks”

42 Porto co-hosted the AI Retail Hackathon alongside MC and SONAE, bringing students into direct collaboration with industry leaders.

Over five days, five participants used AI and computer vision to explore new ways of shaping the future of food retail, working with real datasets from the Continente Smart Store.

The winning team, 42 Ducks, developed a smart “hot shelf” system powered by an intelligent agent and a live dashboard designed to improve product visibility and support real-time decision-making.

42 Tokyo stood out and secured first place. The event brought together bold ideas and talent, transforming 42 Bangkok into a playground of creativity and innovation energy.

42 Lausanne partners up with Audemars Piguet with a 48h Hackathon

Students from 42 Lausanne took on a significant challenge during an intensive 48-hour hackathon organized in partnership with Audemars Piguet.

Working from a confidential brief based on a real operational need, participants were ask to imagine, prototype, and present a viable solution within a limited timeframe.

The teams demonstrated exceptional creativity, discipline, and technical expertise throughout the competition.

1337 Hosts Morocco’s First Live Hacking Event

1337 Coding School achieved a national milestone by hosting Morocco’s first live hacking event. Building on their strong performance at the Hack The Box hackathon, the team officially launched NullHat Morocco in collaboration with HackerOne.

Over two days at UM6P, participants took part in the country’s first Live Hacking Session and a nationwide CTF featuring 40 teams, supported by hands-on expertise from leading ethical hackers and HackerOne ambassadors.

For the second year in a row, 42 Nice came out on top at the regional inter-school hackathon.

During a fast-paced 24-hour challenge, the team created an interactive portal giving easy, organized access to key regional data.

They were supported by a former champion, whose guidance helped keep the project focused and impactful from start to finish.

Over five weeks of simulated trading under real-market conditions, 2,100 participants from universities and schools across Morocco competed in the Casablanca Stock Exchange Championship 2025, organized by the Bourse de Casablanca.

Among them, Nour-Eddin Ait Bouguarri from at 1337 Benguerir, earned second place, standing out for his analytical mindset, composure, and vision bridging technology and finance.

42 Berlin claimed first place at the Battle of the Tech Schools 2025, standing out among Europe’s leading institutions.

Competing under this year’s theme, KiezConnect: Economic Opportunity for Berlin’s Newcomers”, the team developed KiezConnect, an AI-powered discovery platform designed to help new arrivals connect with local events, communities, and professional opportunities.

Over the span of two days, 175 participants across 33 teams transformed the 42 Heilbronn campus into a true hub of innovation during the Unlock Campus 2.0 Hackathon.

Students tackled challenges ranging from creative digital solutions to improve campus life to ambitious real-world projects, including designing, building, and even racing hovercrafts.

42 Abu Dhabi tops the Global Rail Youth Hackathon by Etihad Rail

In a leading innovation challenge bringing together young talents across the UAE rail ecosystem, a team led by 42 Abu Dhabi student Abdullah Ali Salem secured first place at the Global Rail Youth Hackathon by Etihad Rail.

Their winning concept, Sanady, is a compact autonomous module that clips onto any wheelchair and guides passengers from station entrance to seat. The solution combines AI navigation with live station mapping, an on-device interface for SOS and rapid assistance, and seamless integration with UAE Pass and ticketing systems, advancing safe, barrier-free mobility.

This milestone reflects the collaboration, and inclusive design mindset that drive 42 Network across the globe.

In a prestigious national competition gathering Morocco’s top engineering schools and universities, two of our teams from 1337 delivered an outstanding performance, earning 1st and 4th place among the country’s top talents.

At ETHWarsaw Hackathon, Guanyi Du and his team stood out with their project Pool Keeper, a Base mini app designed to bring greater transparency to decentralized finance.

By tracking liquidity pool health and APY evolution, Pool Keeper offers actionable insights that help traders, protocols, and analysts navigate market volatility with confidence.

42 Heilbronn students deliver great performance at the world’s largest mobility conference 

In just five hours at IAA MOBILITY, a team from 42 Heilbronn developed a “Black Box” solution for the Virtual-2-Real challenge. 

Their app detects crashes, records full vehicle data, activates cameras, and automatically generates a Digital Witness Report in the cloud, helping to provide insurers, law enforcement, and emergency services with instant and reliable evidence. 

This innovative approach highlights the team’s ability to deliver practical, high-impact solutions under real-world time pressure.

42 Berlin student shines at the Berlin Energy Hackathon

42 Berlin student, Thanakorn Thajan won big at the Berlin Energy Hackathon, organized by the European Energy Collective.

Competing in Voltaic’s KiezGrid challenge, he delivered a full-stack platform powered by AI that determines in real time whether to use solar, battery, or grid energy. The solution gives residents live insights into generation, consumption, and savings, automates fair and transparent billing, and provides building managers with a clear system health dashboard.

What set his project apart was its holistic approach,going beyond code to consider user experience and operations.

This is a great example of how hackathons inspire practical innovation with real-world impact.

As part of the Tech Field Studies series, students at 42 Heilbronn collaborated with Gero’s Flohmarkt to explore how traditional flea markets could be transformed into modern, user-focused online platforms.

This partnership provided students with valuable hands-on experience in digital innovation, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving, while supporting Gero’s Flohmarkt in reimagining its services for a digital-first audience.

Hive Students deliver Innovation & Creativity at Qt Hackathon

Last week, Hive hosted an intensive three-day Qt Hackathon in collaboration with the Qt team.

Over the course of the event, students immersed themselves in Qt Design Studio, Qt Creator IDE, and the Qt Framework libraries to address a unique challenge: Create an Emotional Experience with Qt for Android.

Participants were tasked with designing multi-sensory applications that engage users through sight, sound, and motion. Working in self-formed teams, they developed prototypes that responded in real time to human interaction and live data.

Throughout the hackathon, the Qt team provided continuous support both on campus and via Discord, ensuring participants could push their projects forward effectively.

In just three days, students demonstrated remarkable focus, creativity, and determination.

The LoopHole Hackathon, organized by Build Club Malaysia and the UniLah Student Community, was designed to celebrate creativity without boundaries. With no problem statements, no set agenda, and no major prize pool, the event encouraged participants to embrace experimentation and innovation.

Students from 42 Kuala Lumpur joined the challenge, forming two teams that delivered projects characterized by originality, humor, and clever design. For many, this was their first hackathon experience, offering valuable exposure to collaborative innovation in a free-form environment.

The participation of 42KL students reflected the community’s ability to think outside the box and apply their skills in unconventional ways.

42 Heilbronn Hackathon Explores AI Solutions for Safer Internet for Children

At 42 Heilbronn, a 24-hour hackathon brought together students to design innovative solutions for building a safer, smarter internet for children. The initiative was inspired by the work of Sascha Schell, who examined hardware-based protections against explicit content, and Kay Winter, who explored AI-driven content filters tailored to parental values in his master’s thesis.

Over the course of the hackathon, students developed functional prototypes that successfully merged ethics, personalization, and technical rigor. Every team delivered a working model, each demonstrating creativity, practical application, and a strong sense of purpose.

This hackathon showcased how the 42 model of project-based learning empowers students to address complex societal challenges while delivering impactful, real-world solutions.

42 Abu Dhabi RecognAIze Hackathon Showcases AI Innovation in CCTV Recognition

Over an intensive 72-hour challenge, seven teams at 42 Abu Dhabi participated in the RecognAIze Hackathon, developing AI-powered CCTV recognition systems that combined machine learning, ethics, and innovation to deliver real-world applications.

Among plenty of participants, three teams, Attention, CatsUnderCCTV, and Team Piolo were awarded for their outstanding performance and creativity!

From concept to code, the RecognAIze Hackathon demonstrated how the 42 community can harness AI to decode patterns, detect behavior, and design technology with purpose.

42 Luanda Hackathon Crowns Team SUDOZZZ as Winner, Heading to Expo Osaka 2025

On July 10th, 42 Luanda hosted the final of its first-ever hackathon, a competition exclusively for cadets.

Four finalist teams presented Mapazzz, an application designed for malaria prevention, before a distinguished panel of judges.

Team SUDOZZZ emerged as the winner, securing the opportunity to represent 42 Luanda and Angola at Expo Osaka 2025, where they will showcase their project to an international audience.

Over 120 students from 42 campuses in Berlin, Heilbronn, Wolfsburg, and four international 1337 locations participated in a 3-day global cybersecurity competition in collaboration with Hack The Box.

From capture-the-flag challenges to hands-on physical security exercises like lockpicking, the event showcased the depth of cybersecurity talent, critical thinking, and cross-campus collaboration that defines the very nature of the 42 global network.

In collaboration with Make, 42 Heilbronn organized an intensive 24-hour hackathon focused on smart automation solutions.

Real-World Dev Meets Real Opportunity at 42 Firenze

20 aspiring developers from 42 Firenze rose to the occasion in the “Cocktail Debacle” Challenge: a hands-on initiative launched with Terranova Software to simulate a real-world product sprint.

Over several days, students built full-stack web apps from scratch using TypeScript, C#, Git, and databases. They pushed their limits, collaborated under pressure, and learned new tech stacks on the fly. The challenge resulted in live project demos, and an opportunity at landing interviews with Terranova.

This event is another milestone in bringing industry and innovation closer to the 42 ecosystem.

Major milestone for Hive at the Supercell AI Hackathon

The Supercell AI Hackathon, hosted at Hive Helsinki in partnership with Junction, brought together over 300 developers, designers, and creatives from 38 countries for a weekend dedicated to reimagining the future of gaming through AI.

Participants explored how artificial intelligence can shape gameplay, storytelling, and creative tools by building real, working prototypes. Hive’s team “Prompt Me Maybe” took home the grand prize with an innovative AI-powered shooter that lets players generate weapons using natural language prompts and real-time texture generation.

This victory highlights 42 students’ creativity and avant-gardiste approach to coding and AI!

TeamMatch Wins Big at 42 Berlin AI Hackathon

Two students at 42 Berlin transformed a bold concept into a high-impact initiative: the AI Vibecoding Hackathon:  a student-led event designed to enhance innovation blending AI and software development.

The winning project, TeamMatch, is a webbased application connecting developers to relevant project through an intuitive, swipe-based interface. Developped by two brilliant students, Francisco Alejandro Ramirez and Mehmet Dadal Ercan, the project was credited for its user-centric design, clear and easy functionality and polished delivery.

This project is a true reflection of the quality of education 42 offers to its students.

Top of the Charts: 42 Students Dominate the Leaderboard at the 2025 Spring CodinGame Challenge!

Last week, our students from 1337, 42 Abu Dhabi, 42 Antananarivo, 42 Istanbul, 42 Lyon, 42 Nice and 42 Paris hit the top ranks at the 2025 Spring CodinGame Challenge. 

Among thousands of participants and companies worldwide, 42 students managed to stand out with an outstanding performance. Over the span of a week, they demonstrated their problem-solving skills, algorithmic thinking, and creativity by completing a series of online coding challenges designed to test both technical expertise and innovative thinking.

This success reflects the excellence and impact of the 42 learning experience.

19 STUDENT MASTERS HIS HACKATHON DEBUT

Ben Schor from 19 made an incredible mark at his very first hackathon by winning first place. Alongside his team, he developed an innovative RAG-powered chatbot for hey! Telecom, utilizing OpenAI’s API and LlamaIndex to enhance customer interactions on the telecom company’s website. This cutting-edge solution showcased both technical expertise and creativity.

42 Wolfsburg Wins First Place at the KI Hackathon

Can AI transform public services, optimize city operations, and improve urban living?

This question drove the KI Hackathon Wolfsburg, where developers, designers, and innovators came together to tackle real-world challenges. Organized by WolfsburgDigital, alongside Lufthansa Industry Solutions, Stadt Wolfsburg, Microsoft, Volkswagen, and T-Systems International, the event brought together 14 teams and over 70 participants, all striving to develop impactful AI-driven solutions.

Among fierce competition, 42 Wolfsburg’s team, TALEMT, claimed first place with their AI-powered solution for optimizing document processing in Immigration Offices.

Competing against industry professionals and seasoned developers, their success highlights the strength of 42’s peer-driven learning model and its ability to foster innovation.
