« 42’s innovative model could serve as a blueprint for other fields »
After a PhD in AI and technology semantics, Serge Linckels spent over 20 working in education. That was before being chosen by Luxembourg’s Minister of Education, Children & Youth to spearhead the Digital Learning Hub (DLH), an initiative designed to enable career transitioning in IT, the flagship of which is 42 Luxembourg. With the campus having recently welcomed its first cohort, we discussed 42, its values, and the future of education.
42 Luxembourg: Offering New Opportunities at the Heart of Europe
Located at the heart of Europe, sharing borders with Belgium, France and Germany, Luxembourg is renowned to be rather small in size, dynamic economically and known for its high quality of life. Previously reliant on the steel industry, the economy gradually transitioned towards a tertiary sector-based model in the 1980s, and the country now ambitions to become an IT-nation. It was with that objective in mind that Luxembourg’s Ministry of Education, Children, and Youth first approached 42 to discuss the possibility of opening a campus in the country back in 2019.
