Where Are They at Now? 42 Prague’s Rapid Rise in the Heart of Europe.

Having opened almost 4 years ago, 42 Prague has enjoyed a rapid rise in both awareness and recognition. With local employers particularly in demand for individuals who are not only good technically but can also work in teams, the campus is gradually becoming a reference point for the whole of Czechia in terms of IT education.

Numbers That Speak for Themselves

After 4 years, increasing evidence points to the fact that 42’s methodology translates effectively across the Czech economy.

Currently, 42 Prague is home to 244 students (32% of which are women), who come from over 20 different countries. Three years after having welcomed its first students, 52 of them have finished 42’s core curriculum, and 41 have already successfully transitioned from their projects at 42 Prague into full-time roles across an impressively diverse range of industries. From automotive to IT development, with others having chosen gaming studios, banking, consulting, and telecommunications along the way, former 42 Prague students are finding their way in all sorts of professional settings. The fact that 42 equips students with a versatile skill set that meets the technical demands of both local startups and global enterprises, certainly plays a non-negligible part.

What the Industry Says: The “42 Edge”

As it turns out, local employers aren’t hiring for technical skills only anymore. Instead, they increasingly hire for a way of thinking, of being, and a high capacity to adapt to new environments. Soft skills are becoming hard requirements. Feedback from the field suggests that 42 Prague students are proactive, self-driven, collaborative, able to give constructive feedback and don’t hesitate to challenge projects when they feel that it is needed.

“Our partners consistently highlight that these students are exceptionally self-driven. They don’t just execute tasks; they have the confidence to give feedback and challenge project directions to find better solutions.” – Petra Meliska, CEO of 42 Prague.

These skills align with current tech market demands, making 42 Prague students strong candidates in virtually every field.

From Media Curiosity to B2B Authority

On the communications and PR front, the Czech initially greeted 42 Prague with a mix of fascination and curiosity. Journalists were eager to understand how a school with “no teachers, no classes and no books” could possibly function. Initial media coverage was also heavily focused on the 42 model’s unique social impact and its collaborations with NGOs.

Today, that narrative is shifting. As the campus prepares for new B2B press campaigns, the conversation has matured. The media now recognize 42 Prague as a strategic partner for the digital economy, focusing on its ability to bridge the talent gap for the nation’s biggest players, including partners like Skoda Auto.

Winning Streak: Hackathons and Innovation

42 Prague goes far beyond providing talent for the tech ecosystem. Its students actively demonstrate their elite quality on a regular basis, consistently acing local hackathons and local competitions. 2025 was no exception to that rule, with the students putting their technical abilities on full display:

  • GreenHack & DigiEduHack: 42 Prague students took home the 1st place trophies.
  • Skoda Auto AI Skill Coach: Teams from the campus secured both 2nd and 3rd place.
  • International Recognition: Team AOS (featuring a 42 Prague student) will travel to Brussels in June 2026 to receive a prize for developing an administrative tool that reduces data processing time by 40%.

On The Horizon: A Summer of Growth

  • GreenHack 2026: Returning to the campus this June to foster sustainable innovation.
