Together, 42 Brussels and 42 Antwerp form 42 Belgium, a community connected by the
same curriculum, values, and community. Students can move freely between both sites,
collaborate on shared projects, and grow within a single vibrant ecosystem that unites
Belgium’s next generation of digital changemakers.
In 2018, after a visit to 42 Paris, John-Alexander Bogaerts and Ian Gallienne decided to bring
the 42 model to Belgium. Faced with a growing demand for digital skills and persistent
youth unemployment, their vision gave birth to Campus 19—now 42 Belgium.
Located in the heart of Europe, at BeCentral in Brussels Central Station, 42 Belgium has
become a driving force for digital inclusion and innovation. Supported by a strong
ecosystem of leading Belgian companies and foundations, it offers a free, peer-to-peer,
project-based learning experience where anyone can learn to code and grow into a future-
proof tech leader.
Since its creation, 42 Belgium has welcomed 3,200+ learners to its Piscine, hosted 1,340+
learners in the full curriculum, and enabled 98% of them to find a job, internship, or a new
professional pathway they love. All of this while fostering diversity, collaboration, and
creativity at the core of its community.
With the opening of a second campus in Antwerp in 2002, 42 Belgium now empowers
talent across the country—bringing the same open, inclusive, and excellence-driven spirit
to Flanders.
