With the opening of 42 Perpignan Occitanie, Perpignan and the whole of its region have the ambition to fully enter the digital era, in order to offer both innovative education programs and exciting new job opportunities throughout the region. 42 Perpignan Occitanie has chosen a hybrid financial model, involving both private and public contributors.
Three of its founders come from the public sector: The Urban Community of Perpignan, the City Council of Perpignan and the Pyrénées-Orientales department’s chamber of commerce, while the other 30 come from the private sector, including high-profile companies such as Veolia, Banque Populaire, Profileo or SAUR… Located at a strategic intersection between the cities of Barcelona, Montpellier and Toulouse, Perpignan is a particularly attractive city for students, notably because of its incredible scenery (Perpignan is located on the seaside and right by Pyrenees mountain chain) and its rather low cost of living. In addition to Perpignan, the Pyrénées-Orientales department is renowned for its culture, its art of living and its sunny weather, all of which make it a particularly attractive place.
42 Perpignan Occitanie boasts brand new, state of the art infrastructures and equipment right at the heart of the city. The campus is located in the historical “Dames de France” building, and can host up to 150 students per cohort. Facilities include game rooms, showers and a lecture theater that can host a wide range of events, such as hackathons, conferences etc.
